It has one question: how far away is this sound? Far off it's small and dark and all room. Close in it's dry and huge and at your ear. It only moves when it's quiet: every gap in your track, it comes back a step nearer. Three sheets of glass at three real depths show where it stands.
Turn a knob: drag it or tap either side of it, roll the wheel over it or use the arrow keys; a double click puts it back. Put a thumb on the glass: press and hold, high up to send it away, low down to bring it in, and slide. A quick tap sends it back. Or tab to the glass: the up and down arrows slide, Enter taps. The patches step on by themselves until you touch anything. Move the pointer and the sheets slide over each other.

The distance, the rule, the window's light and the pane are NEARER's engine as designed, running in your browser; what goes in stands in for a rack. On the module the last of it comes out of the glass itself; here it comes out of your speakers, through a model of the pane.
