rides off with the heads
20 HP
Every sound has a head and a body. HEADLESS cuts them apart at the neck: the body rides on without its head, every hit turned to a swell, and the heads are carried off and thrown back at a gallop on the clock, left and right, near or far in the fog.
Turn a knob: drag it or tap either side of it, roll the wheel over it or use the arrow keys; a double click puts it back. TAKE is a button: hold it down, then let go. The patches step on by themselves until you touch anything.

Everything HEADLESS does here is its engine as designed, running in your browser. The loop is a stand-in rack.
The head is a sound's attack: the click of a hit, the pluck of a string, its first few milliseconds. HEADLESS finds every one on the two inputs together and cuts it off at the neck. The body is everything after, and it swells in where the head is let go.
With GALLOP fully left and RIDE at noon, BODY and HEADS add back up to the sound, and so do LEFT and RIGHT, a few milliseconds late.
