something walks behind you
20 HP
A dark piano figure in five beats to the bar, on your clock, against your four. It drifts out of step with you and back again, and every five of your bars its downbeat lands on yours and it strikes. In between it's always there, a little behind you, getting closer.
Turn a knob: drag it or tap either side of it, roll the wheel over it or use the arrow keys; a double click puts it back. STRIKE and HIDE are buttons: press them any time. The patches step on by themselves until you touch anything.

Everything FIVE does here is its engine as designed, running in your browser. The rack round it is a stand-in.
Give it your beat and it walks at your tempo, but in five. Your bars are four beats long and its are five, so it drifts out of step with you a beat a bar, and comes back: every five of your bars its first beat lands on yours.
When its downbeat meets yours it strikes: a huge stab under a low piano chord, every light on the panel at once and a gate. As the next one comes, the strings swell and the stab grows.
A bare, close piano, octaves and no pedal, with strings and a heavy analogue stab underneath.
